God of all creation,
today I place my beloved Dexter into Your gentle care.
Thank You for the joy he brought,
for the loyalty in his eyes,
for the comfort of his presence on hard days,
and for the simple, honest love he gave so freely.
When his body grew tired and the time came to let him rest,
You were there in the quiet of that moment.
You understood the tears, the hesitation, the love behind the goodbye.
Receive him now into the peace of Your creation—
where there is no pain, no fear, only warmth and light.
And for me, Lord,
sit with this empty space he leaves behind.
Hold the memories gently.
Let gratitude be stronger than grief,
and let love be stronger than loss.
